Nottingham Council House Dome
Commercial Scaffolding
Location: Nottingham
Contract Value: £600,000
Contract Duration: 16 Weeks
This project Started life as a challenging access tower to replace a section of lead lifted by the wind.
(The lead had landed on the roof of the council house). Subsequent investigation revealed that a huge amount of the lead fixing had rotted. A full scaffold was called for, presenting us with the logistical problem of getting our material onto the main roof and close to the dome base. A crane was employed to lift materials, but only so much was allowed to be landed at any one time so the crane was employed over several days to lift materials as our work proceeded. A large design element was involved because of the complex nature of the scaffold.
